Bank of Commerce Names Ray VP and CBO

Bank of Commerce has announced the appointment of Johnny Ray as Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer. A veteran banking executive and lifelong Mississippian, Ray brings nearly four decades of banking experience, extensive leadership, and deep community involvement to the Bank of Commerce team.

In his new role, Ray will lead the bank’s commercial and retail banking operations, focusing on relationship growth, community outreach, and strategic development. His leadership will further strengthen the bank’s commitment to serving communities with care, insight, and integrity, all hallmarks of Bank of Commerce since its founding in 1904.

A native of Greenwood, Ray began his banking career in 1986 and has held senior roles at Trustmark, BancorpSouth, BankPlus, and most recently as Executive Vice President and Jackson Regional President at BankFirst Financial Services.

Ray is also a community leader, serving on the boards of several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area, the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, Mission First and Rotary Club of Jackson, Mississippi. He is a member of First Baptist Church Jackson.

“Bank of Commerce is a modern community bank that reflects Mississippi’s values of integrity, service, and prosperity,” says Ray. “It’s a privilege to join a team so deeply invested in the people and businesses of our state. I look forward to building on the bank’s strong foundation and helping even more Mississippians succeed.”
